Lands of America recently had nearly $2 billion in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in Washington. This covers about 154,000 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 39 counties in Washington, Stevens County had the most land for sale. There were 361 acres of sold land in Washington recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decline in sales activity over data from the month before. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $5 million. The most land sales in the state last month were recorded in Lewis County. Thirty-three wildlife management areas cover almost a million acres of land in Washington and offer hunters access to game species including waterfowl, grouse, pheasant, elk, and wild turkey. Sockeye salmon, steelhead, bass, as well as numerous saltwater fish species are on the hook for anglers. In terms of its size, Washington is the country's 18th-largest state, covering an area of 71,303 square miles (46 million acres). Of its total landmass, 66,456 square miles covers land area, while the remaining 4,842 square miles is made up of water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Washington include mule deer, elk, grouse, bear, whitetail deer, geese, turkey, moose, quail, and ducks. Anglers can enjoy casting for trout, salmon, walleye, bass, and pike.
