Recent data from Lands of America shows over $2 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Evergreen State, which represents appromixately 154,000 acres of land for sale in the state. Of Washington's 39 counties, Stevens County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 1,796 acres of sold land in Washington recorded in February 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a rise in sales activity over data from the previous month. The most land sales in the state last month were located in Lewis and Okanogan County. Thirty-three wildlife management areas cover almost a million acres of land in Washington and offer hunters access to game species including waterfowl, grouse, pheasant, elk, and wild turkey. Sockeye salmon, steelhead, bass, as well as numerous saltwater fish species are on the hook for anglers. In terms of its size, Washington is the country's 18th-largest state, covering an area of 71,303 square miles (46 million acres). Of its total landmass, 66,456 square miles is land, while the remaining 4,842 square miles is covered by water. Game species to be found on land for sale in Washington include elk, grouse, bear, mule deer, turkey, whitetail deer, geese, ducks, moose, and quail.
