Internal data from Lands of America lists $565 million in land and ranches for sale for sale in the Evergreen State. This represents some 104,045 acres of Washington land for sale. Of the 39 counties in Washington, Ferry County had the most land and acreage for sale. The most expensive property listed for sale in Washington on Lands of America recently was $70 million, while the median price for land and other rural acreage for sale in Washington was $402,966. The average price of land for sale in Washington was $913,698. There was 549 acres of sold land in Washington recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $4.7 million. Ferry County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Thirty-three wildlife management areas cover almost a million acres of land in Washington and offer hunters access to game species including waterfowl, grouse, pheasant, elk and wild turkey. Sockeye salmon, steelhead, bass as well as numerous saltwater fish species are on the hook for anglers. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Washington. In terms of size, Washington is the country's 18th-largest state, covering an area of 71,303 square miles (46 million acres). In total, 66,456 square miles (93 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 4,842 square miles comprises water.
